Installing Update Rollup 21 for Exchange 2007 SP3...

Introduction

Installing updates on a old server which are outdated... the most fun thing to do. Today I had to update an SBS 2008. The Windows updates where last installed somewhere in 2015, so that wasn't a problem. 126 updates later Windows was up-to-date. Now I only had to do the Exchange 2007. It was running SP3 (83.6). So I downloaded Rollup 21 and started the setup.

I ran following command in an elevated cmd: "msiexec.exe /update Exchange2007-KB3184711-x64-EN.msp"

The installer prompted for the "exchangeserver.msi" of SP3. I downloaded it on the desktop and gave the installer what he wanted...

No luck, the prompt came back.

After a long long search on Google I found this command: "msiexec.exe /i exchangeserver.msi REINSTALLMODE=voums REINSTALL=ALL" which saved the day.
